dodgy electrics

does anyone know why the fuel gauge and temperature gauge go off when i put my wipers,heater,windscreen washer on ( which all have now stopped working ) it is an ex military 90 on a 86 plate.

poor earth, almost certainly. Lift out the dash console and trace all the earths back, look for its bolt point to the bulkhead. Clean it, away you go.

check the fuses under the seat or the flasher unit for the indicators.

problem sorted ...... it was the orange wire to the back of the ignition barrel , the crimp had came loose .
