I've just bought a p38 2.5 DT on a T plate. (1999)
A friend of mine who is into landy's told me that all land rover/range rovers come with all the electrics wired up but depends on the spec, (HSE , VOGUE)
as to which have buttons.
I thought this to be a little far fetched but I thought I'd try his theory out anyway and on removing the heated windscreen button blank I found a circuit type connection sat waiting to be harnessed. My windscreen is a heated one so is it really just as simple as buying a button and plugging it in???
If so, how cool is that?
Does anyone know?

It all depends on the BECM, there are High Line and Lowline versions. The Highline has all the features even if they are not used/enabled, the Lowline does not. The DT comes with a Lowline BECM normally.

100% agree, even if you have a highline prob means it has had a replacment at some point the windscreen will not work by purly fitting switch the system will have to be enabled by testbook/ autologic type system.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm way out of my league here cos imstruggling to understand what all the abbreviations mean. What is a becm?

But you need a lottery win or have to own half of France to afford it.:D:D:D
Less than £500 for single vehicle, soon recovered if you have a problem given stealers prices. Looking at RSW,s development, it looks very much like he is concentrating on the CAN Bus stuff, only 2 modules done for the P38 and you can bet one of those will be EAS.
