DIY Rock Sliders - Would this work?

Basicly im thinking of welding some box section to some angle then bolting straight through it all, through the origional sill. (the bolt holes in the slider will also have tube welded in to double up as jacking points.

Thoughts?

are you welding tubes to the faceing side ?

Undecided. I may stick some tubes on but that would mean installling a few captive nuts and bolting through the sill from the inside. Not sure how goot a captive nut would be been bashed about

would weld tubes into sill as well to stop it crushing when you bolt it up.

I'd weld it. Make the rockslider part of the bodyshell rather than just a bolt-on.

Make sure it's upto the job, my mate did some and the bar bent and he crushed his door !

Had a look today and I arnt fastening anything to my sills! They are fooked so I'm gonna cut them out and replace them with some 100*50 box then weld some 50*75 to that with some tubes.

Didn't think you would, once you took the plastic sill cover off, just didn't want to say ..

Checkout robin ts there done properly i wouldnt rven think about csptive nuts n bolts it eill be as strong as toffee
