Discovey 1 V8 Gearbox

Hello All, I'm new to the forum. I have a Discovery 1 V8 with an R380 gearbox which is shot. I was wondering if an R380 from a Defender would fit my elderly Discovery N reg 3.9 V8. With Thanks Mick.

it would fit but gear stick would be too far forward, what is issue with the box

hi box is stuck in gear can't move selector shaft have top off,did want to use too much force to move it
