I have a 1997 Disco 1 v8 that is refusing to start and after weeks of trying I am now at a loss hoping someone here maybe able to help. It all started as an intermittant start problem and then progressed into trying to stall when i was driving at slow speeds. After reading several forums I have replaced the following: Spider bypass lead, coil, ignition control module , HT leads, Dizzy cap, rotor arm, injectors, stepper motor, mass air flow meter. I have checked all fuses and they are all fine. If anyone could point me in another direction that may help me get my disco going I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks
Dave

I would be thinking about asking if anybody near you would let you do a substitution test on your ECU, but before that, have you checked the fuel supply?

Might be worth replacing the fuel filter and maybe popping the fuel pump out and making sure the pick up isn't restricted with crud and that the fuel delivery is strong.

sounds ike fuelling now then if all the electrics have been replaced, and thats counting on the fact they have been put back in properly.

What in the world is a Spider bypass lead??

Its a lead that bypasses the spider
Of course, you will need to know what a spider is, as far as I can make out its the immobiliser unit on a V8 which commonly suffers from dry joints and other electrical gremlins, so it is usually bypassed........probably, hence the spider bypass lead.
