Discovery - Permanent 4 Wheel Drive?

Hi all

Are the Discovery TD5 (V Reg) permanently 4 wheel drive or can you switch between 4 wheel and 2 wheel drive using the high/low ratio gear?

permanent 4wd center diff in transfer box stops wind up betwween axles,diff lock locks center diff meaning both axles have to drive but you can lose drive if both a front and rear wheel spin at same time , although you will only have hi/low on lever in cab as td5 discovery use traction control through abs system instead of diff lock

Read through the owners manual in the service pack/handbook - it will contain a lot of basic but useful information about the vehicles capabilities and how to exploit them.

You cannot switch between 2 and 4 wheel drive. They are "permanent" 4-wheel drive.
