I've got meself a 1972 series with a 2.5 N/A engine in it. Had some problems with the gearbox (main bearing gone I think) so I took it out a few months ago with the intention of rebuilding it.
But i've now got a discovery gearbox that me dad only needs the transferbox off for his 200tdi 110. And was wondering if it would fit in me series? I would use the transferbox off the 110 (1:44 ratio)
Obviously the mounts would need to be fabricated, but is the physical size too big without major modification of the chassis? And would the gear lever be too far back? I know that the front prop shaft will need lengthening, but would the rear one be to short and the angle too great?
Thanks
