The pictures showed the side lockers, which I prefer personally but if you want to move people you want that capacity. Unless once folded up they look exactly like the lockers. Have to admit not having one I am not certain but those on here who know will be able to tell you.
There is also the issue of the securing points in the floor and the headrests which swing down from the roof, I believe. I could see neither.

Remember, IF it is advertised as a 7 seater and is not in fact but is a 5 seater, then you simply say you paid the deposit on a 7 seater, so give it back please! No need to mention dodgy MOT or anything. It is simply not being sold as advertised.

If they did swap them over then they replaced the carpet too didn't they? Doubt they did this, the cubby boxes are as rare as hen's teeth.

Agreed, not at all likely but not impossible. I don’t know whether there were options for 5 or 7 seats but again if it’s a model that should have 7 and it only has 5 there is a story to be told. I don’t recall the folded seats taking up any more space than the cubbys but my memory is not the greatest for these things!

Any history? Like when was the clutch and DMF last changed?

I hate to say it but looking at the MOT history over the last 2 years it's already had welding done on front inner wings, servo and rear towbar area. Without getting under it I'd say you'll be chasing rust all day long.
I'm with Henry I'm out.

I sold mine a couple of years ago for a lot less and with less mileage and no welding on the chassis.

At the end of the day, its your money... but I think the general advice on here is.... RUN, and look for a better looked after one. I only paid £1600 for my 53 plate D2 TD5.

I think it is a typical dealers car, one looking for a mug to buy it. All tarted up so it superficially looks lovely.
Luckily you had the sense to ask the peeps who knows.
And don't be scared to use the 5 seat 7 seat thing to get your money back.

And don't take the other one they're selling on auto trader for the same price as that looks just as bad. And it's only 5 seats so not as advertised. I'd say I need a 7 seater give me my deposit back please.

Good solid car honest Guv, ignore the rust on MOT history. The w reg they are selling has the best MOT history

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires dealers to supply goods that are fit for purpose, as described and of satisfactory quality. Its the law, and as a dealer, they should know it. You are perfectly within your rights to ask for your deposit back.

Is it click and collect or are they delivering?
I would say they are on thin ice and they know it, see what they say when you mention consumer rights/distance selling etc, also worth doing a few minutes research on google etc.
Or take some friendly mech with you and get him to slag the welding off then refuse the car, the mot pass as anyone knows means diddly squat.

Nowadays any modernish car should only really fail mots on tyres/wipers susp bits and pieces ie the usual odd and sods, any heavy rot means steer vlear.

Just looked at the mot history, and quite frankly that is bloody terrible!
That is defo a case of chuck it in for mot and see what it fails on, then repair the bare minimum to get a pass, so no advisories get done, and of course each year its gets worse and worse.

Only one owner.... bloke called Godfrey Davies.

Have you seen the car in the flesh yet or just paid a holding deposit. If just a holding deposit they are required to return it if you decide the car is not for you once you've viewed it.
