discovery advice td5

i am just looking at buying my wife an 03 td5 es i have spoke to the seller and he said the auto ger stick may need adusting as when selecting reverse you some times have wiggle the stick is this a simple proble or could it be a bigger proble would be blowing the budget already and dont want to buy problems advise much needed thanks kevin

There is a locking tab that prevents reverse being selected by mistake when driving. move the gearstick to the left and you will hear a 'snapping' sound. It should then select reverse without any issues. If when moving the stick to the left it doesn't 'snap' or you still need to wiggle the stick then there is a fault. It is likely it will just need adjustment.
