Hi all,
Just been doing some flicking through on auto trader, seen a 300 series disco like mine, with what looked like td5 head lights , has anybody done this? Do you know if it is just a straight swop or is there more involved?

An easy swap to the earlier 1999 - 2003td5 headlights, quite a bit more in depth if you want to upgrade to the later 2003 - on style.

Got 2 on the top and one one each side of the light, which are hidden away, and then a wrap around bull bar to make sure they don't fall out ;)

Yeah, plus I fabricated on some stronger brackets when I had them all to bits fitting the projector lenses, LEDs and DLR's ;)

It's the actual securing side of it I'm not looking forward to.
Not fussed about cutting the headlight box section or wiring as that's the easy bit. ;)

To be honest, its easy to secure once you them in place as then you know what can go where - one of those jobs easier to do than to talk about.

You need to extend the top support inwards towards the engine to use the existing bolt holes on the lights, but a few pieces of metal and a welder, jobs easy.

I actually fitted mine pre my welder, so I made up all the brackets and bolted them in place onto the existing body work. I have now welded most of them in place, but even then it didn't take me too long to do the whole job.

Oh, and you don't need a new front grille - the existing one fits just fine.

No probs, if you are looking at doing this, and need anymore help pm me and we can have a chat if you like.

I've already got the lights and wiring harness and even have the trim at the bottom of the lights painted up ready, so looking to do it very soon.
I'll drop you a PM nearer the time for a few final tech Qs.
Cheers, Stu.

Ive got a mate who has a 300 with a 300 headlight on the drivers and an early td5 one on the passenger side, shame I didnt take a pic of it earlier today to post... I always find it quite amusing for some reason.
