hi can you tell me .
can you fit abs wheel sensor by them selfs with out changing the hub ,or does it have to be a full exchange.

thanks

yes you can its is a kit with all wires that go right back to the ecu (slabs ecu)

Just done it myself, land rover won't supply just the abs sensor, but they are available. Make sure you clean the area thoroughly before taking out the sensor. It's quite hard to fit the sensor back through the gap in the hub housing but it does go with a bit of persuasion.

I was told by dealer my front right sensor was off but when i changed it abs lights still on, old sensor still reads alright as well. Traction control and abs still work though.

huh tell landrover u want it the cheeky feckers, it comes as sensor and harness

Last one i got was £ 25 from "2nd gear" a land rover breakers near where i live, it disconnects just under the master brake cylinder on the right inner wing or next to the abs block on the left inner wing, follow the wire up from the sensor through the grommet in the wing and you will find the connector. If you can't find a sensor i have one that tests ok but i did change it though i'm not convinced this was the fault,
You can try it if you wish.

hi can you give me the tel number for the garage 2nd gear where you got the abs sensor from.

thanks

hi thanks for the info ,will let you know as the car goes in for diagnostics friday so will find out exactly what it is.

thanks dave

whats your thinking behind this.
at moment i have tc light showing abs light showing will these go out if i drive on mud .

thanks dave

Hi guys
Had same fault with my Discovery 2 2000W td5 gs, had all the tc abs and hdc lights come on i tested all the sensors they were all ok. so had it on my local independent lr centre DLS, computer and it was the front rh sensor faulty and they supplyed me with a new sensor which was from britpart part number TAR 100060.But after I replaced the sensor I had to have the fault light reset it does'nt reset itself and not had problem since.

Hope this was helpful

No they will stay on but you will be able to tell for definate if the ABS is working or not, this will help identify the problem

hi if the abs /tc h/d is not working it could be any thing from fuses which i have checked a relay or wheel sensor or worse the abs modulator ,what do you think.

thanks dave

Hi
I checked all the fuses on mine but everything was ok.There it a fault that lr told me about which is the wiring along the top of the chassis could become faulty and there is a replacement wiring loom just for the abs sensors but you can check the wiring from the multi plug underneath the cooling system expansion tank to the abs sensors at the back.but you will have to get the disco on a diagnostic check so the computer can be reset what ever you do.But anything you disconect with the ignition on will show as a fault on the computer because I had 10 faults because i had the ignition on.

Scotty

hi took the disco in and put on the computer turned out to be an old code.
so lights are out for now ,lets see if they come back.

thanks for your help
