Hi,
What can i do to help my "new" 2000 manual TD5 ?

have seen EGR bypass's etc and i would like to squeeze out amy MPG i can.

thanks

Hmm. Performance is mentioned in the title and MPG in the text.

You can blank the EGR, have it tuned slightly or more and have various other bits cleaned/tweeked. To start with, it's probably a good idea to decide what you want specifically from the engine. Consider it's usage, do you need the ability to tow big trailers? Go offroad frequently, be economical (relatively speaking with a Disco of course), cruise on the motorway, or what? Do a search on this site and read a few threads about each and you'll get an idea about how much these things cost and what sort of results can be had. Then formulate a plan and go for it!

thanks,

The original plan was just to tow a horse trailer but it looks such fun i was considering using it more than just the odd weekend.

i will do a search,

regards,
K

The best what u can do with the Td5 is a proffesional remap... get rid of the EGR ASAP, K&N air filter helps too and remove the viscous fan over winter... eventually fit a leccy fan instead for the summer

i agree with sierrafery, although i have a leccy fan on mine and the only time it comes on is when i switch it on, even when it was really hot, as for the remap i had mine done at TD5 alive, you just tell him what you want to do with your motor and he will taylor one to suit:rolleyes: i had mine done to bottom end and econemy
