The long bits screw onto existing threads already in place on your Disco. There will be one long and one short per side, once you have these fitted the fitting of the steps will be self evident. You should be able to work out which way round the extended pieces go as they will be the same distance to the ground.

Yes Will, thats correct. There should be 4 hexagonal bolts, once these are screwed onto the existing threads, then the steps are bolted onto them. On my vehicle the longest are fitted at the rear, you will need to spray a drop of WD40 onto the existing threads/studs as they will be probably rusty.

Thanks Nigel, thats tomorrow taken care of then :)
Hi having a similar question
I have removed old rotten side steps and have a shiny set of JGS ones to fit. The new silver spacers should fit onto the studs protruding from the bottom of the vehicle - i think you first have to remove the old spacer ? if i add my new silver ones to the existing its all too low ?!
Not sure how to get the old ones off ?? the thread is not long ebough to fit new side bar clamps direct on old stud - argh

Second question the other mounting on the support is a top fitting on teh priginal and now looks like a side fitting on the new ones has anybpdy fitted these ? just feeling like these clamps are not right ones - you know how your mind plays tricks when its dark wet and your covered in crap

appreciate any pointers

thanks

Tim

its just a juggle have done it now take off old extensions first

The new supports have one clamp fitting and one bolt fitting check the way the clamps are labelled up is right
I ended up getting supports onto the car first as this was easier than trying to get them on with side steps attached
As the new extensions (silver bits) replace the old ones and it was tricky getting these off
its worth soaking the top nut with WD40 a few days before I soaked both at the same time second side had become easier by the time I got there
