Discovery 2 M and S lights..

Hi all,

Iv tried my best to research the problem. But im intermitently getting m and s lights on dash causing g'box to go into limp mode.

After two minuites of searching everything seemed to point towards the xyz switch. Iv just got this off the car and opened it up and to me there are no signs of water ingress!

Is there anything else i can check? The pins on the rotating arm are clean and are sprung nicely so make a good contact too..

Everything seems to point toward the XYZ switch as being the most common but there are exactly 15 possible reasons for limp mode with flashing M+S and the only certain way is to read the fault code stored in the transmission ECU not to go buy luck and dismember the transmission in pieces

I agree.. But other than checking it with a multi meter, this is free. And while the cars off the road getting a few jobs done ready for sale, it seems logical to try the things that dont cost me money first.

I also dont have access to a diag machine nor a way to get the car to a garage so im kind of stuck at the moment with that one!
