ive got a 1995 discovery 300 v8 auto with gas conversion, its got a few faults which i need help with eg:

1, when puling up too a halt the revs drop too low and it stalls, sometimes it faulters and does not stall (both on gas and petrol)

2, the gearbox wont go into top gear, and also kickdown does not work (fluid is nice and red and level

3, i get tyre squeal whn going round a corner left or right and slow too is embarrising

if anyone has experienced any of these faults and has some answers for that wil be most appreciated

WELCOME!

3. check tyre pressures?? Check wheel alignment too - incorrect toe-in or toe-out may cause tyre squeal.

Change the American tires to English tyres :D (Every American cop show has cars squealing round corners or to a stop even when slow - good for TV effect :D )

Diff.

lol thankyou i will check them tommorrow

Kickdown cable is fine and working. Will the tps cause it too randomly rev up and then down till it dies. Just doesent seem too run right. Could it be the idle control valve or the air flow meter?

If you're running on LPG, chances are the ignition advance is too high at idle, this will cause an unstable idle. Factor in a lazy idle speed control motor and a worn cam and it will hunt and stall at idle. Try backing off the ignition advance massively - you should find that you can then get a rock steady idle but no power, the trick is to find a balance you're happy with. Also set the base idle. Haynes say 550rpm but in practice on a worn engine you'll meed to set it to around 850rpm.
