Discovery 1 fixed by a numpty....

Afternoon guys

I have recently purchased a disco 1 300tdi (again) on driving it home the gearbox felt disconnected.

Long story short got it up on a pals ramps and discovered the bellhousing to be attached to the engine with 2 bolts nothing else, the gearbox cross member had 2 bolts holding it in place and the speedo loom trapped in the bellhousing.

So my dilemma is I don't know gearbox bolt sizes&lengths and need to replace them and don't know the cross member bolt sizes&lengths either.

Any kind soul able to help?

Find a lad breaking 1 in ur area and buy what u need off that

aha, so it appears that its stud and nut, thanks for the link I never knew it existed.
I suppose the question now is (as it doesn't list on there) how many of everything do I need? any help appreciated.

There's a few bits missing something u don't get with the genuine paper parts book that's why I have one, but not with me the moment.
At a guess I would say 8 bolts but if your stuck without any replies and have the part number I could have a look later this evening or whenever.

Well I have been to the local landy place and they couldn't even find what I required so, my other problem is Im nowhere near the vehicle else id get under and count.
If you could have a look this evening it would be greatly appreciated dude.
I think (memory serving probable incorrect) that its 4 studs along the bottem a pair of bolts at 3 and 9 oclock and a pair of studs at the top, my other problem with not being near the thing is I cant check if the other studs are still in play at the top, I think the gearbox may well be coming off as I can only assume the reason for incorrect refit is the threads being cream crackered (hopefully some of it is salvageable.

My 200t'die Disco had 4 x bolts accross the bottom & studs / washers / nuts everywhere else around the bell housing....

But I don't know if 200 & 300 are same

300s have 4 x m10 x35mm(fb110071l) flange bolts along the bottom 9 x m10 x stud (te110061l) 9 x m10 flange nut (fn110041l) foe bell housing and for cross member 6 x m8 x 100m bolt (bh108201l) 6 x m8 nuts and washers,4 x m10 x 100 bolt (bh110201l) plus 4 x m10 nuts and washers

You may find some of the studs broken off in the bell housing, there were 3 broken off and all the rest loose on mine when I bought it home, on the 1800 klm journey back the gearbox near fell out of the car. Had to remove the whole 'box to get the broken stud threads out.
