The Freelander is better in conditions like that than any other Land Rover.

Are there still freelander drivers out there that bite every time? 
It pains me to say it but my wife's fl2 is better than my defender in snow. Neither got stuck but the freelander is more sure footed , although terrain response has a lot to do with it I suspect

I'll happily admit that yeah more modern vehicles such as the evoque are better off road than fenders. Old fashioned mechanics are sometimes no match for all these fancy electronic terrain response things.

That's a pretty bold statement
The Freelander is good on the slippery stuff like snow, shallow mud and wet grass. A good friend of mine has managed to get his Disco2 stuck while off road twice. The odd part is both times I've been in front of him in my Freelander and didn't even notice the surface was slippery until his Disco ground to a halt spinning one wheel? I really can't see the point in a 1wd 4X4! Needless to say the Freelander pulled him out with little fuss even on the standard Wranglers with 4 ish mm of tread. The Freelander is better than it gets credit for

There's a steep slope near the LR experience at Rockingham castle - speed camera at the bottom. Due to it's ability and light weight the FL2 is the only current LR product that will go up it when it's sheet ice. When weather is bad they avoid it in the heavier vehicles as the weight factor takes over and it's too dangerous. Was told about it when I was there.

First time he told me I was in a D4. Second visit I was in a FL2. Same story both times. D4's nice but cost/size etc makes the FL2 betterer for me.they do tell all freelander owners the same

ive a few customers moving on to fl2 instead of others because its price and function make it more appealing than the others

It's become quite common that. D3, D4 or RR owners buying a FL2 when thet next change. Especially peeps who buy new regular. With money the way it is at least it means they're still buying from LR. I like seeing new FL2's. The more peeps buy the more will be available second hand in years to come.

if they made it with the wheel on the back then I would have brought one,but I do not like the back door it looks like a van ,and I do not like the evoke there is hardly any window to see out the back
