It's the batteries that are the biggest problem!

Also, could you fit defender inner arches?

I suppose its possible. Not sure how big they are, would need to be worth while.

it shoildnt be to bad. Ill just extend the 2 cables to where there new home will be.

I was thinking as I have lots of space now, I could have them I front of the block. Failing that, they could go inside.

Hmm.. ill measure my bros soon then and see what there saying.

It wont be to hard to make them, its just a strip of steel sheet for the arch and a half circle of sheet to box it in.

I'm also gona relocate the damper mounts further back in their arch to gain more travel for the one link.
So if I do mak new arches it will work quite well having the freedom to make my own recesses for the mounts.

I've been thinking.. I've lots of switches, gauges ect that are now in my landy.. dotted about and its not so tidy.

Do I've redesigned it.. with a lil help from PaintCad :D

The idea is to make a new dash from ali sheet and have everything in 1 place, out of the water.
I'm also gona add an "OH ****" bar

I plan to lose the current dash above the steering wheel and remount it along with the back end of the centre console bit with the window and mirror controls, some fuse mounts (which I forgot to add in the pic), any other switch that's around the vehicle, stereo and CB and hopefully ill have a small bit of room for a small cubby box.

FYI this is not my vehicle, I know its backwards.. only for design purposes and please ignore my dyslexic spelling lol.

Funny you should mention it last night I was just thinking how rubbish the speedo is and how much trouble it is to calibrate, same with fuel gauge, etc etc, why don't I just make my own dash pod and stuff it with important and good stuff like proper gauges!

You know what they say.. great minds think alike ;)

I would probably be keeping the stock spedo for the mo due to money reasons, but I'd ideally like to get a proper replacement eventually.

Acewell speedo if you want everything in one from rpm, fuel, temp, speed, oil pressure, idiot lights etc

I had this in my bike engined car, it was an acwell,

Took part in the RTV trail today with BHCLRC.. well I say take part, but I dropped out after the 2nd one.

Turns out my setup is AWFUL for trails.. I got my steering lock stops set to max to stop the rub, this resulted in a blooming awful turning circle!
Along with the cutting out problem that started up again, I thought It was a waist of time competing, Just had a bit of a play after.

In hindsight I could have fitted my AT's which are only 235/70's and had plenty of lock!

But all in all it was still a good day, even if I was frozen lol
