mine has been de catted and middle box removed also but no whistle also snorkel fitted with k&n ellement??????? but turbo is working ....

also you should be able to feel it working, turbo lag.... alot more power higher up the rev range... and you should be able to hear it spooling (like a wooshing noise)

remove the pipe from the turbo to the inlet and see if it pumping a shed load of air out

thanks i'll have a look at that tomorrow.

can't say i can feel it kick in??, this is my first disco so a completely different driving experiance that the skoda octavia diesel we have..
or the mondeo's i've had as company cars.

The only real way to tell if a turbo is working efficiently is to measure boost pressure. You could do this at the inlet manifold or directly at the turbo outlet, if you measure at the manifold the reading will probably be slightly lower to account for pressure drop across the intercooler and pipework.

i take the end off the turbo the pipe to air filter i can hear mine woosh but not as loud as my dads and my dads whistles to mine does not its strange i know you can hear the whistle out the end of the exhaust to on me old mans disco and mine is none exsistant but yet im always cropping up overboost and limp mode also airflow does not work propperly even with a new one installed ... it jurks and kangaroos like mad so i unplug it and theres no jerkyness or kangaroo effect but still overboost cant and dnt think ile ever find the problem as ive done every trick in the book to find it but no joy
