Hi guys
yet another q about the limited running time she seems to have. When its under load and the turbo kicks in, its like the turbo runs for a second, then stops for a second, then starts and so on and so on. Easily visible when looking at the rev counter too, can see it drop a bit then up a bit. Just wondering what could be wrong? Opened up the turbo today but all the fins etc are in place and turns freely. Just wondering what could be causing it? In the pipe between the turbo and airbox seems to have a small amount of watery oil in it. Forded a bit of a flood a few weeks ago but seemed to be fine immediately after..? Any help appreciated! Could it be a sensor on EGR etc?
Cheers
TM

I doubt it's the EGR giving you problems.
how much water did you ford through?

I managed to get water into the ECU after deep fording my TD5 and it was dead/intermittant till I put it on the radiator for three days to dry out... it did also knacker the MAF and was down on power as a result

Hi mate
the bow wave came up to the top of the front of the bonnet but it's nothing haven't done before to get to one of my fields. She spluttered a bit but was fine after and ran ok till about 3 days afterwards when started playing up. Opened up the turbo just to check but all is fine in there and it fires alright with no funny noises. Also looking to get it onto a test book as apparently a fault with MAF should show up?

yep.

I had mine on test book and the MAF was reading 34... the bloke said it should read about 55... so we changed it for a new one and it did.

Dont ask me what the units are measured in though?

Try unpluging MAF sensor and then drive vehicle. With MAF disconected the td5 engine will run on default settings, only slighty down on power. If theres an improvement than i would suspect faulty Maf sensor.
