Hello all,
I was fortunate enough to find this site and i have read some of the posts re:air susp. problems.. i want to convert to coils as my heart is broke with the air susp. and replacing bags... im by no means an expert so dont laugh at my question.. i need to know what coils i need and do they come with a shock absorber?? i have seen kits but they dont have shocks with them.. i have a 7 seater but hardly ever use the two back ones... and whats involved in raising the jeep up on blocks ive heard some ppl refer to? thanks lads in advance

You get a kit containing 2 coil springs, 2 base plates for the springs to sit on top off and 2 rubbers for the top of the springs. The kit will come with all the bolts you need ( 4 in total ). About an hour fits them. Ring Paddocks they have the kits in stock.

If you're going to change to coils, you need some substantial axle/body stands under the body so the axle can be lowered and so that you can work safely underneath the vehicle.

It's not a bad job to do, but all the bits like axles etc are heavy and can cause serious injury if they drop on your tender bits

Be safe, we want to hear from you AFTER the job.

Peter

The shock absorbers are separate to the airbags and won't need changing, just because you are changing to steel springs.

Unless they are worn out off course.........................

Bear in mind that you will need to tell your ins coy about the change ??!!
