disco ES

afternoon all , newish to this side of the forum . need a bit of info , just done a deal over the phone with an old mate swaping my 4.2 classic for a disco 300 tdi ES spec . what is ES spec ? does it have leather , air con etc . bit late I know , however some info would be good . thanks

Not normally just a fluid and filter change at 24,000mls, fluid level and colour should remain the same for that duration.

Just bought one myself. 1994 with an autobox. 69k. V good condn, no rust, and box is smooth. Will service and waxoyl it soon, but think i will need to get someone to do the box.
Good luck with yours. For a 17 yr old motor I am well impressed.

wife has an L reg es, old man has an m reg es.

odd though. the older one has lots of extra's over the newer es.

dual batteries, cruise control, foglights, front bullbar and spotlights, newer black surround headlights, metallic paint,heated seats.

no idea why the newer ES is nothing like the same.

You sure someones not just stuck an ES badge on the newer one ?


All should have metallic paint, leather interior with heated fronts, cruise control and other extras like heated front windscreen

The earlier ES didn't have heated/motorised seats or a heated front screen.

Sounds like the L reg has had a few extras fitted by an owner at some point.

We never fitted duel batteries in production so it has been modded

My M reg 94 300TDi ES had leather seats, air con, metallic paint and dual sun roofs. That was about it. Heated front seats, heated front windscreen, fog lamps, cruise control etc all came later
