OK but first let's get it straight, a Freelander is NOT a replacement for Series/Disco/Defender/Rangie but another model in the Landie range.

Some people use the lack of ability to run along in ruts, or the fact it acts like a boat rather than a sub in deep water, as a criticism for the model. Mine is totally up to the job I intend it to do, more when I straddle said ruts!

Buster, I don't mind a Hippo owner giving his tuppenyworth and some of the critics can be quite witty. I visit this site to get some valuable info from these owners. What is getting monotonous is the 'gaylander squad' who cant think of anything really witty to post.

Now, I read the first few pages and last 4 or so to catch up and to be honest I didnt see Rodd post anything worse than the 'bashers' and being just as boring in return with the 'retard' posts. He got a suspension for that??? Maybe I missed something else though.

All ah can say is, it got me some places... not all the places ah wanted to be, and was crap on a long journey for comfort and fuel... but as a car it was ok.

;)

Your telling me it aint up to the job cos I scratched the paint lol...... and yours was all shiny too? :D :D :D :kettlepot:

Thats not the job I bought it for anyway, just some fun ;)

As an aside, I have used it more relevantly in my voluntary role

spoiling his argument, that's just mean

nasty man, that's what too much time in a auto panda does to ya

well he was in front of me on the newbs run on the plains saw a disco go through a puddle then went on in , then stopped (bottled it) then nearly reversed into me in his haste to get out
on the panda subject i dont wanna talk about it !!:D

Nice pics Buster, I agree you will get further in a Defender (as long as Clarkson isnt driving it) than the lighter Hippo.

Having driven both your types, I have to say that I had an easier ride in the Hippo when I visited my daughter in Germany than driving a Defender to Edinburgh from Bordon.

Horses for courses as always :D

Oooohhh thats why yr narky :D I wasnt gonna prang yr shiny paintwork, the reversing sensors weren't beeping quick enough to be that close ;)
That was when I found the max level of ground clearance on the Hippo (should have seen the amount of muck I ploughed into the undertray getting out) even the disco axles were scraping the bottom of that puddled rut. Nothing says you have to stay in ruts when laning :D

It was also when I found the advantage of autoboxes when laning as the bloke behind was having to use his clutch a lot at the speed I was doing. I did pick it up a bit when I found out though ;)

well ask anyone i've gone out with if i have worried much about the odd scratch, but sooner scratch the underside than the paint work .
at 1 stage i noticed you run along a load of blackthorne bushes as the grass had been scratching your belly pan

the grass you say...... now I would have probably been looking ahead and decided not to risk being stuck in a rut that got deeper further on.... they is a bugger to get out of them rutsy bits ;)

Bit o' polish did the job later :D

 if you say so

skynet try reading all of rodds posts before you make an illinformed comment on here that really makes you look silly :D

I thought I just did ......... I know, let's ask Santa for some reading glasses for ya :p

oh right so the fact that i'd driven that part of the route at least a half dozen times previously to that outing and my boy could have driven that section in his pug
you were spouting off on here after the outing saying your glorified rollerskate had made it look easy, had nothing to do with the fact that boomer, dv, ratty robint and myself had done a fair bit of reci's to make sure it was tame enough for you to tackle

cant u remember scratchy lanes.... you, Mr Ratty, robint, pikey, me and medusa... on the plains. :)

yes and did you see the scratches on the newly painted wing , i asked to be notified if it was bad scratchy as i had my old 90 for all out bad stuff and no longer wished to make the td5 any worse than it already was .
1 scratch on the new wing and 1 on the passenger door were right down to bare metal
imiterial now as it turned out

Oh right, you bunch of complete retards are allowed to talk constant bollocks but no one else can? Mmmm...you ****wit!

wow someone gives some grief back (in good humour or not) and he gets banned, how is that justified?

edit - just going to read some of Rodd's posts, see if they are banter / humour or aggressive

edit2 - seems a 3 day ban was justified, anyone notice he likes the word retard? if only admin could add retard(s) to the filter, see what he does then
