I have just had the clutch done in my 200TDI the man who did it took the engine out not the gearbox he has always done it like this and he has been doing land rovers for 8+ years .Now the problem I have is when I go for reverse it crunches and all other gears are a bit stiff but not a problem it is as if the linkage had been off and not put back on right. The clutch had been slipping for quit a long time and the plate was worn uneven (I have never seen this before) does anybody have any idea what the problem could be ??

I was thinking of changing the oil in the box to start

Thanks Rob:confused:

the person who did it is thinking the slave or master cylinder he has them both on order but not due till later today/Wednesday so I got it back as I know what it was like before and he didn't .We know it needs sorting out and he is not trying to get out of it he just dont want to do he's never come across this before

was using to all day yesterday (until slave cylinder came) and now it has been used everything is ok just a bit notchy going in to 2/4th sometimes  so do we swap the slave cylinder or just try the oil?

Thanks Rob
