disco autobox not going into park

I pulled up on the mother in laws drive on christmas day and found that the disco 2 auto box will not allow me to select Park. Its been like this since. I have taken off the top selector cover in the cabin to ensure that its not jammed by a coin or something else.

does any one have any ideas? Could it be due an autobox oil change?

Just been for a drive and pulled up on route, it slipped in to park fine so took it out of park and tried o put it back in and it would not go. Driven home now and its on the drive in Park.

could this be due to a lack of fluid?

Its not lack of fluid, if it was you would have slow upshifts etc. it will be probably an adjustment needed to selection cable HTSH
