Dear all

I have recently been on one of the Land Rover experience introduction courses and was blown away by what these vehicles are capable of. However, after talking to a local garage owner he tells me that there are alot of reliability issues with either the Disco 3 or the Range Rover Sport.

I can believe this as I was surprised at the number of electronic systems which enabled the vehicle to recognised certain conditions etc etc. I am looking to buy a Disco 3 but before I do wanted to carry out my due diligence to the maximum. I would be interested to hear from anyone who owns one of these vehicles or knows of someone who owns one and about any reliability issues that may have been encountered.

Many thanks

What do you intend to use the vehicle for?

on a serious note:rolleyes: a mate has had one for 2 years from new and has only spent money on servicing and swears it's the best 4x4 he's had

These comedians get everywhere.;) :D :D :D

A local portaloo firm uses A disco 3 to tow their loos about. Not the normal individual type ones but the big chalet type ones. They weigh around 2.5-3 ton when full and are tall and wide. They are still well within the alleged capabilities of the Disco 3 though.

Because of the wind drag due to the size and the weight, the engine keeps going into limp mode due to the EGR fecking up. Landrover have been unable to rectify the fault yet and the last I heard were on about possibly giving them a wind deflector to stick on the roof to see if that cures it.

can you just imagine the discovery 3 in ten years time when they come into the 'cheaper' market ? you aint gonna be able to use them off road cos the elecrtonics will be screwed as soon as they get wet, the body will be mostly filler and theres no chance of changing a bent chassis ! on the up side being as they have been designed using lego you should be able to raid the kids toy box for the right coloured lego bricks to replace any damaged pannels
