is there any difference in the diffs from a d2 to a d1 (24 spline"

sould I put d2 front calipers on my d1 to get vented disks on?

securing stud length on 4 studs,no dont fit use disco 1 vented calipers or fit spacers to the ones you have

Currently got a d2 front diff to go in mine temporarily

As James said there is a discrepancy between various diffs on the mounting stud length for the four side studs

Very early diffs took short studs, other took all same length then d2 uses bolts but would take short studs all round

I have a new rear axle casing that has short studs at the sides but I had imperial diff casings in so it was ok

Now I have temp fitted a 300tdi diff the side studs are too short to get a nut on

This seems to be another case of land rover fairly randomly changing things!

Anyway will hopefully knock studs out and replace with long ones.

Regards d2 axle have a peek under one paul it's a completely different setup.

Can fit vented front calipers off a 110 also
