The DIII is a better driving vehicle in all respects, performance, tuneability, mpg etc.

It is a more complex vehicle to work on, has cam belts rather than a chain etc.

Peeps will talk about the Electronic handbrake as a fault but they are fine if serviced annually.

Overall a very good vehicle.

The one I'm looking at has just had the cambelt changed at a main dealer so that's one thing I wouldn't have to do for a while.

It's a manual. My disco 2 is auto and I've had a few expensive issue's with it so was thinking of avoiding the autobox this time round, but do like driving auto's.

I'm adjusting and cleaning the handbrake as we speak on a customers d3 as long as its done annually there's no problem, generally a great vehicle and brilliant for towing, last week I replaced a injector loom and suspention position sensor on a d2 so they both have there faults, go for it you'll love it :)
