Evening all,

please could somebody explain the 6 beeps when turning on the ignition?

I seem to recall the 3 that follow after starting the engine are for SLABS, however I've no idea about the first set!

Please see video:

Ok, got it now, was a nanocom plugged in lately? if it was it used to mix up settings in the BCU without request. You shoud double check the settings in the BCU, maybe the seat belt audible warning was enabled cos that's which gives 6 bongs on start up
though that overspeed warning lamp which is on and stays on doesnt seem OK especially cos it's not specific for UK specs also there is another non UK audible warning for transfer box in neutral which could have been accidentally activated

btw, dont you have any emotion that your oil pressure warning lamp is not working ?

I belive a previous owner had changed some of the BCU settings relating to the multi-stage unlocking.. will test the seatbelt theroy and disable it if this proves to be the case. transfer neutral switch works, however the warning is not activated.

Apologies for being slow.. I'm not sure what you're looking at for the overspeed lamp?

The Oil pressure light is part of my weekends (long) list of things I need to look at, having just brought the landy - not happy so far with the number of hidden issues I've been finding since buying it...

Many Thanks :)

disregard that, i had a mental hiccup
Tried it with seatbelt on, still the same unfortunately!

Also had a quick look for the cause of the oil pressure light not working... Found a connector by the oil pump with the wires pulled out - wouldn't be surprised if this was done when taking the gearbox out just before I brought it...

that doesnt rule out anything cos the audible warning relies on a microswitch in the pretensioner which on many modells is missing
You're a star - I was being a bit thick (nothing unusual there!) - checked the BCU settings and the seat belt warning was enabled - turned it off, perfect - the 6 beeps have gone!
