My ACE system has never been connected as the pipes are missing. It’s driving ok an mot wasn’t a problem last year. I have now purchased all the gubbins to convert to standard. Is this an easy job? Anything I should know beforehand? And how long will it take.

Cheers

Juke, I think its been disconnected from the electrical system as I have no light on or malfunctions over the last few years.
I only noticed that it was disconnected when I had the front end off and there are no pipes from the bottle or pump.
I have just bought a standard anti roll bar kit so I hope to fit this soon.

Mine drives fine but it cant be god not been connected. Haven't heard anyone complain about handling with standard bars either though.
all I can do is wait and see what happens.

Interesting, the main problem with reinstating the ACE seems to be the ace block which, given the age of all D2s, corrodes around the outlets which is what happened to mine. It then becomes impossible to fit the standard connections which is why owners on here go to the extent of changing to plumbing type fittings. I fitted a ace bypass to mine which works perfectly with next to no difference in handling.

ACE was removed from mine before I bought it and still has the ACE roll bars fitted. I just removed all the pipework and control box from chassis then capped off the roll bar cylinders. Driven perfectly fine for the last few years with no issues.

That’s interesting because I bought this kit so I could remove the box and remainder of the pipes. Seeing as I have the kit I’m going to do it but I would like to know how difficult it is.
Thanks for the info though

Ive seen people talking about a days work to replace the anti roll bars and pump replacement idler etc... Personally it doesnt look that long a job but it all depends on if you have a decent set of tools etc... I reckon 3 to 4 hrs if you can get the bolts off ok. Just wd40 them every day a week in advance, but get a wire brush on them first.
