Disco 1 with issues, nuts and windows

Hello all.
I am a bit new to all of this, so please be gentle. I have just purchased a 'R' plate Discovery.
The previous owner told me about the front windows not working correctly. I have just ordered the part for the drivers side (a black box ECU thingy), but the passenger side needs runners or rubbers. It will not run up/down as it is very stuck. Any ideas were I can get bits or solutions.
Secondly the locking wheel nuts have been removed as the tool was damaged, so she is running on 4 nuts on each wheel. I have ordered new locking nuts, but how do I get the others off, as the wheel brace does not seam to fit the remaining nuts.

Sounds like you need a manual so get a Haynes as all the basic stuff is in there and how to replace the window guide rubbers or you can if you wish download a LR manual from the net for the basic/not so basic stuff.
For parts do a google search or look at the ads in the LR mags such LRO.

With your wheel brace perhaps you have the wrong brace. Post a pic of the wheel & nuts and the brace then we can soon tell you.

Also it's a good idea to give your location, u never know there may be a disco owner not far from you that has done some thing similar.

as suggested you must have the wrong wheelbrace, if so id just buy a socket if you have a breaker bar. mine are 27mil as far as i know, all landys ive come accross are. as for the window runner some1 breaking a disco may be able to help you. as it happens i am breaking mine. but you might find that the window is just stuck if it hasnt been used for a long time or could try running a bit of grease on the runners. just a thought.
