True actually. I calculated that cost difference between this and a diesel would be £40 per 1000k's (625 miles). That is money but still not worth buying another car.

Leave that you won't have the fun of driving a V8.
 
So are the vented discs the same thickness as the solid ones? Do they fit in place of the solid ones? Has anyone actually done it?

ive done quite a few like a lot of things with disco 1 and defenders ,they were a perfect vehicle for people like me,everthing was reconditionable at a reasonable cost, etc unlike new throw away ones ,we used to buy and fit a spacer kit in the solid calipers (vented calipers are only std with spacer anyhow)with new longer bolts fit the vented discs ,bleed brakes job done ,you can buy new vented calipers for £40 ish
 
Well I have a local scrappy that has lots of rangerovers.... might see if there are any vented calipers there.... What years were they fitted? My '95 only has 1 line and nipple per caliper.... Alternatively where could I get the spacers and bolts?
