Disco 1 owner with a few questions!

Hi guys, I recently purchased my first Landy


first thing I did was remove those horrible vinyl's on the lower section



its a 98 disco 300tdi and was what i thought was great condition, after the first week the HG unfortunately showed its first signs of going, the header tank was pressurising, it overheated and lost all coolant

i've stripped down most of the engine for the rebuild





just the head to come off now!

My question is that i bought a recon head and all gaskets off of the bay, but upon closer inspection the Bearmach head gasket looks a little ropey to me...


the silicone gasket looks like it wont seal quite properly, is this just me? or does this gasket need sending back?



Any help is much appreciated

And for the keen eye... theres a full leather interior stacked inside ready for me to fit

I can see what you mean about the gasket. I'd change it just to be 100%, although its most likley OK

id fit an elring ,thats poor quality
