Disco 1 lights

Hi my o/s side lights weren’t working so I replaced fuse 8 which brought them back on but with main beam so when I put side lights on everything is lit up. Anyone got any ideas?

It's an earth fault. Always is.

What have you done thus far ? when did this start ?

Remake all the earth points you can find - tis good maintenance anyway - and make damn sure that the engine and gearbox earth straps are in good order .... AND that you handbrake cable isn't the only earth ....

A search on here should help you ... but you might ending tracing the circuit diags in RAVE to find the actual missing or extra earth.....

Not much thereto go on.
Everything on both sides or just the o/s?
Could that be the ‘dim dip’ function operating if fitted and functioning when the engine is running although dip beam is obviously dim, or is it full illumination on dip only and/or high beam ? when the light switch is in position one.
