Disco 1 gear knob removal

Having a spot of bother removing the gear knob from my disco. It's at a funny angle and I want to reposition it, but I can't shift it. I've tried grunting a lot and that didn't help

Is it threaded or simple push-on pull-off? I have a nasty feeling it might have been glued...:doh:

Any help much appreciated chaps

Threaded. Try some mole grips to budge it.

Lift up the gaiter you'll see a 13mm pinch bolt. Take it out and the upper half of the gearstick will slide off. You can't take just the knob off I think it's moulded.

they screw off ! use an oil filter strap type removal tool to get it off
