Hi
I drained & refilled the gearbox oil on my 2001 td5 today. The oil that came out was supposedly done in July but over the recent weeks I'm doing all the oils & fluids.
When I drained it out Id driven around 5-6 miles so it wasn't hot or cold really

But it was a very brown muddy colour
The gearbox doesn't leak & it no serious off-roading

Just wandered what others have had & if I should perhaps do it again in a couple months

Thanks

not in a couple of months but after few days as you replaced only half of the oil in the box which now is mixed with half of the old one already

I did mine twice. First time it was manly brown and the second time it was black. Either way, there was a significant improvement at bot changes. Hope you notice that too.

ok I'm doing the engine oil next weekend ill have it out again.

gear changing was a lot better with fresh oil, how often/miles do you have yours out as routine.
i do a fair amount of towing

thanks
