Which ones the right one for my 1987 TD defender??

Cos the one with the long handle came with my 90 and the one with the short handle came in the noo engine. Problem is If the shorter one is the right one then H on my dipstick is half inch above the H mark on the shorter dipstick

Which might explain why It spewed oil everywhere when I topped it up.

yeah where is that bastid when yu need him...

Anyway I think I've discovered the answer cos LR Series has got a piccy of the one for mine and it's the short handled one. which means the oil level was about an inch higher than it should hav been which may explain why it was spewing out all over the place when I topped it up before. :doh:

Ya dunt need a tape measure it either a long handled or a short handled one. But I think it's the short handled one.

next time you do an oil change get the engine hot drain it all out and measure the oil capacity you put in as per LR and you will defo know

Yeah I've sort of figured out that it's the short handled one and either way with the short handled one I can't go wrong because on N it's slightly higher than the L mark on the other and on H it's still lower than the H mark on the long handled one
