ive heard of people pulling half shaft out and jacking up that side and filling thru stu axle ,ive allways drilled 12mm hole and welded 12 mm nut over and made bung out of bolt

nice i'd be happy with 60 with out the engine screaming

300tdi ones are but don't know about 200tdi

all normal rover axled coil sprung landrover run the same diff ratio it doesn't matter if they are 10 spline or 24 spline...

in answer to the OP question it will be ok BUTif it gets knocked into 4wd or low ratio say good by to your transfer box cause it'll get eaten! for the sake of a few hours work you might as well fit both diffs the rear takes about half an hour on the floor the front takes a couple of hours as you have to take the wheels and brakes off

Ok sounds good, im only doing the rear tomorrow morning as only have a few hours, but i think il cut a bit of pipe and sleeve the 4wd lever so it cant compress and go into 4wd etc

or you could drop the front prop off til you have done the front ;)

would give you a chance to check the UJs and replace if necessary :D

remember to replace the propshaft nuts n bolts whenever you take them off! for the money they cost (pence) its not worth not doing it!

Wise words, your gonna need to take the front prop off anyway to do the diff

:D:DHi its alight for you SWB boys with rover axle's LOL, but I am looking at buying a 109 which has a Salisbury rear axle.
:confused:Question is are there alternative ratio diffs for that axil or is it a case of changing the whole thing:confused::confused:. Cheers Les

yes done quite a few diff carrier a pinion can be changed same and ratios are the same 3.54 or 4.7,theres can be a bit more setting up required in that you have to change internals
