yes but check you have filler hole in rear case,as disco diffs dont have filler in diff housing like early rr
Also make sure they're 10 spline and not 24 spline otherwise your halfshafts won't fit
ive heard of people pulling half shaft out and jacking up that side and filling thru stu axle ,ive allways drilled 12mm hole and welded 12 mm nut over and made bung out of bolt
was under the impression that disco diff were 4.8:1 and series 4.7:1
anyone confirm that?
i thought disco 3.54:1 ? ...
i run lightwieght with 21/4 petrol ,110 wheels disco diffs 3.54 as compared to series 4.7 drives great much better, will do 85 on motorway although back to 30 uphill about to fit 200 tdi aboiut 30%increase in gearing,i did rear first to try then later fitted front
300tdi ones are but don't know about 200tdi
all normal rover axled coil sprung landrover run the same diff ratio it doesn't matter if they are 10 spline or 24 spline...
in answer to the OP question it will be ok BUTif it gets knocked into 4wd or low ratio say good by to your transfer box cause it'll get eaten! for the sake of a few hours work you might as well fit both diffs the rear takes about half an hour on the floor the front takes a couple of hours as you have to take the wheels and brakes off
or you could drop the front prop off til you have done the front
would give you a chance to check the UJs and replace if necessary
remember to replace the propshaft nuts n bolts whenever you take them off! for the money they cost (pence) its not worth not doing it!
Dint think they did different ratio Salisbury axle?
