diff unit or transfer box needed

hi guys - thanks for the replies to my breakdown query - much appreciated - now diagnosed as needing diff unit - 1999 p38 auto ( or transfer box if price is right ) anything outthere ??

do you mean a viscus coupling as in gearbox or a diff for the axel???

thanks for ur reply - not sure - the guy who stripped my R.R. said its not the gearbox it's the '' limited slip differential '' - if I cant get 1 - then it will have 2 b the transfer box ! - i will try n get some more info - cheers

what were symptoms .viscous coupling isnt a lsd ,it will lock ,but if not seized will allow differential action between both axles .rtc6044 is part number and is the same coupling used in classic rr transfer borg warner transfer boxes ,both can be changed without removing or stripping transfer box

id be surprised if loss of drive was caused by viscous unless front and rear diffs/halfshafts buggered ,are you sure t/box not in neutral ,will car reverse
