Diff Lock?!?!

diff lock works fine, its the top box part that Take5 metioned I should take apart, the middle spindel thing is jamed/stuck and is now soakin in WD40 dont worry not submerdged, me and my dad banged it with a mini sledge hammer to get it movin and now trying to free it up properly. . .but hugh thanks to all the advice. .

then put back in the car a it works like a dream, I can go left, righ, high and low, all with my little finger :) so happy

saturdays task is to now fit my susspension lift which came to day by the lovely DHL guy :) :) :)
 
no porbs hopefully if other people now get this problem. . they can look at these pics to understand how it works! might put some explinations on how it works next to the pics at some point
 
Well, after reading these excellent posts and how you guys figured out this problem, particularly without setting of a small war (lol), I wish to pick your collective brains on my problem. Hopefully it's only an insignificant one (for my sake, not yours :D )

I'm not too sure on whether my diff lock is working. I parked on my sloped driveway with a sheet of ice on it and when I "locked" the diff (light came on) I only spun one tire.... I thought all tires would spin or at least move the vehicle.

Seems it has better traction without diff lock engaged. I'll pop it up on the ramps this weekend to spin the tires to test but does this sound normal to anyone here? I don't think it's the sticking shifter but there might be other parts that stick. I may have to pull the top off also it seems.
