1974 2 Door 3.5 V8 4sp manual

Just restoring an old beauty!!

Can anyone advise me on the routing of the breather pipes for the gearbox and transfer box and the vacuum pipe for the diff lock. The manual shows the gearbox breather going to a vacuum off the inlet manifold and that is the only vacuum port that I can find. If that is the case... where does the vacuum for the difflock go?? Why does the gearbox have a vacuum... do they mean the difflock!?

Thoughts?

Thanks for your help in advance!! The old girl will be on the road as soon as this is done! Exciting.

I have found/worked out the answer, so I will post it for future users. The manual is indeed wrong. It says the vacuum pipe goes to the gearbox breather. It is the official landrover manual!

The pipe goes to the diff lock, the breathers are just breathers and are not on any vacuum line.

I wonder if many have spotted this before.

Car is going well.... but see my other post!
