Being an 03 model Td4 there's a good chance that it's got the fuel filter/pump assembly under the rear drivers side wheelarch. It'd be worth taking off the rear wheel, partially remove the wheelarch plastic liner at the front of the wheel & switch on the ignition. You'll hear the pump going & can check around the pump, sedimenter, filter, pipes for any leaks. If you're sure it's leaking from the engine bay, you'll just have to try to track it down as best you can. Sorry I can't be of more help.

sorry took so long to reply i work away .leak is from engine bay still cannot see were from though as i said it only leaks when the temp has dropped will keep looking thanks for the reply chromiumuk

am in england and its not the fbh checked it twice its bone dry.there are two things i would like to know were the fuel is comeing from and why does it only leak when its cold outside its really starting to p##s me right off .......

If the fuel burning heater system on freelanders is similar to the VAG system then there will be a fuel supply pump for the heater that can be heard ticking during operation. Its possible that there is a leak on this pump or the pipe connecting it to the heater.
Follow the fuel pipe from the heater to locate the pump.

Chaser....
