Hi to all
I'm shifting back to the UK next year( over living in clean green NZ, yeh right!), I've been running a 92 Disco V8 for 5 years here.

I found it to be a excellent all rounder, but think a diesel will be more useable back home.
I've been browsing to see whats available on ebay etc, i see Discos do suffer from rusting, what is the general opinion of P38 rangie diesels?

I'm capable of repairing the rot on a Disco but just don't need the hassle to begin with, lol
Cheers

Lots of little problems but all can be repaired by a compitent and willing owner.

The Diesels are slow, but as I sit in crawling traffic the speed isn't an issue for me.

on the plus side though the BMW lump in the front is happy to run on pretty much anything, WMO used engine oil, WVO used veg oil, new veg oil, bio even heard of some of the richer members are running on something called diesel?? but this is waaaay out of my price bracket!!

I'm thinking of using either black diesel or wvo in my 2000 Freelander ( rover L series ) anybody know which is best or basically anything about these fuels?

As already said the p38 uses a BMW diesel and its a good lump came out in 1993 in bmw so its tried and tested
My mates had p38s for the last 6 years and never had a problem with the engine
BUT has had lots of pain in the ass electrical problems with the range rover
