Did i pay too much or not?

Sounds an ok price to me but it depends a lot more on the mechanicals. If they're all good then the rest is fairly cosmetic.

Sounds like you're more after reassurance than anything else but only you can decide if you're happy with it.

I've not seen many that cheap so it seems like a good price on the face of it.

Just enjoy it and stop worrying!

She drives flawlessly. A real gem to drive. Interior is mint too. Just a bit beat up but i thought £400 was a good price to fix her up.
I mainly bought her for the LPG because i was fed up of 13 mpg in my Toyota Hilux (which i will always love more! :D).
Turns out even with the LPG the mpg's arent much different lol. Only advantage is its the same mpg but with a V8 and some luxury :)
Will get the LPG system serviced as i dont think any of the previous owners realised you need to get it serviced regually. Should squeeze a few more mpg's out of her.

Yeah your probably right :D

Ive never spent this much on a car before. Always prefered older cars to be honest. Dont know why. Thought i'd try somethign newer for once.
She is a powerfull beast i'll giver her that. That V8 sure moves when you want it too! :D

Plus i liked the fact that she was beat up. I take care of all the cars i own and i like to fix them up and rrestore them to their former glory. It'snot always about the money. I just enjoy dong it and take pride in it :)
 
Well, depending on the mileage - sounds like yer might have had a alright deal there mate.

£7500 for a car that cost over £65,000 new just less than 10 years ago sounds ok to me

take care of her and she just might take of you. but she'll be high maintainence from now on :)
 
Sounds like a good price to me - depends what the milage was? None of those problems are too expensive to fix, then you should have a nice motor afterwards. Based on what you have said though that sounds like a fair deal.
 
Milage is 130k which for a 4.4 V8 is nothing imo. They are built to last. Probably the only decent thing about the car! lol

It's lovely to drive compared to my Hilux Surf. But then again my Surf did have a big suspesion and body lift and big tyres and torsion bars wound up so it was a pretty stiff ride :)

The RR is like going out with a WAG and the Surf like going out with a girl from Essex. One is expensive, very plastic and has a few loose wires and the other is a good time girl that costs nothing to please! HAHAHAHA

I'll be happy when i fix the EAS fault and the SRS airbag light on the dash. Im hoping its just some wires being pulled about under the drivers seat.

Haha perhaps. Engines these days little alone a big V8, are built to do hundreds of thousands of miles, PROVIDING you look after them. It's only human error and/or miss-use that causes them to fail. Imo.

I saw a MK1 fiesta with 500,000 miles on the clock with one owner once! :D
That was the equivelant of driving to the moon and back! lol

Cracked blocks, slipped liners, gearboxes running at or over their designed torque limit, LR failures are endless. My last Volvo 960 had 286K trouble free miles on it, the gearbox failed on my P38 at 103K. Says it all:rolleyes:

:) Just so we are clear, i wasn't only reffering to engines in LR's.

I just look after my engines more than most i guess. I have had cars that purr like a kitten at 150,000+ miles. Sure minor parts will fail along the way, they are only desinged to last so long so you have to go back to the manufacturer for a new one but the main engine itself on most cars will last for donkeys years if you look after it.

Although i have never owned a Volvo myself, (Although the family has had 2 for the last 20 years) i am very much a Volvo fan and think they are TOTALLY underestimated by society. Their reliabilty is better than Toyota i would say and not many people (average Jo) know it. So undervalued too!
