I have just aquired a set of Discovery 2 steel wheels which dont fit the disco 1. Currently bidding on ebay on a hub adaptor, are there any potential problems wth what I am planning on doing, also will the adaptor work with the steelies? Any help gratefully recieved.

WHY??? just sell the D2 wheels and fit Disco1 steel wheels It'll be cheaper than fitting adaptors and safer. Brand new steels wheels are available for as little as £16 EACH.

To be honest I just like the look of them, however I did look into modulars but with tyres were going to be about £400, the steelies only set me back £100 with brand new tyres and the adaptor is currently going for £100. What do standard Disco 1 steelies look like ?Do defender Wolf wheels fit them standard?

D1 steel wheels fit all Defenders and series landies take the tyres off the D2 rims fit to a set of d1/def steelies and sell the D2 rims.

Hello all, new to this. I had same thoughts as scotia911- please explain why adaptors are dangerous.I was going to use nice chunky d2 wheels on D1 in winter. Did not want to buy extra d1 or def wheels or keep changing tyres.Grateful for advice. Cheers, Tobee

With the price of D1 wheels been so low why would you pay more to alter your vehicle for no good reason and invalidate your insurance?? It makes no sense whatsoever??
