any body round preston blackburn area willing to check this thing out its doing my head in popping back think the fuel trims may be out .my cheap bluetooth elm will only do basics beer tokens ready thanks back to work monday so need to try and get it sorted

thanks for that getting a bit desperate as my wife has been diagnosed with cancer goes for op next week so will be doing some serious milage back and forth for chemo funny this it all started with the alternator going and my wife driving it till it stopped l went out with jump start pack drove it home as she was only 200 yds away fitted new alternator charged battery and this is what happened shane realy shes never missed a beat for 12 months

right rick it all started with the alternator throwing its hand in like l said the wife drove it till it stopped traction control lights on alternator light on etc. so l drove it home with the jump start pack on diagnosed the alternator was up the creek fitted new one charged battery ok. went out in it on the day after popping back running like a bag of spanners checked for fault codes with my elm bluetooth jus one saying misfire so removed plugs fitted new and leads still same. did auto set up on gas took it a run of about 70 mile on petrol almost right but not if u know what l mean so . this morning ive took the plung and took it to our local indy land rover specialist who put it in test book and another diagnostic hey presto no dtc,s so he restet the fuel trims and said try it foe a day or 2 on petrol to get the ecu to learn all the driving conditions on way home it seems a different motor now so we wait to see the t4 said no misfires and lambas ok so u have it

With the very greatest of respect, if you and the missus are going through a life changing moment with her illness, I would advocate getting a reliable run-around that is almost guaranteed to start and get you both to the hospital/doctors at a moments notice....the last thing you will want is to worry about if the car will get you there or start when you need it.....

I am one of Range Rovers biggest fans, but even I have a 'spare' car that I can rely on.....

to b honest saint l know what u mean we do have another car but she loves this one so much anyway its ok now back to work for a day monday which is a 80 mile trip to liverpoll so we will see how its going

Yeah i agree swap it for a diesel. :D:D

there is one flow in that plan wammers l work for a company as a truck driver and they always think u are trying to rob them any fluctuation in fuel figures and they think ur running ur car on their diesel so as we only get lpg in bottles for the tarmac machines they think they have it covered get what l mean but yes any other firm l would have got a diesel but not a range rover would b a jap

Nothing wrong with the P38 diesel. It's shite maintenance run it til it drops owners that are the problem. Much the same with the petrol models.

pmsl wammers yep must admit shes not badly maintained oil change twice a year ( only do about 8000 a year) plugs at same time maybe needs set of leads they have been on 15 months so shes not neglected l dont think. main thing is she looks the part and l wouldnt have a jap realy the last one l had a shotgun was s**t realy but every man to his own u keeping ok pal havent heard keith on for a bit ill b keeping my head down will b back and forth to chorley with the boss when she ha here op all the best

I was not suggesting that you are a bad owner. But the culmination of problems associated with these cars that you have to work through when you get one, is usually down to that type of owner. And of course some rip off garages who don't have a bloody clue what they are doing. Even a properly maintained Trabant will be reasonably trouble free. All the best to your missus hope she pulls through it. Tell her chin up. ;);)

well theres been a development went a run about 16miles ok for about 4 miles then popping back and running like **** got back home read the codes 1172 and 1175 and 172 and 174 l think having done research think its the maf will investigate more tomorrow any body any ideas

Best of luck to your wife, at least she can travel in style, commensurate with her standing in the longridge area

There was a great disaster in Longridge in the fifties. There was a pig put on the Stonebridge wall so that the locals would know it was Sunday. One Sunday it fell off and everybody went to work. :D:D

P0172 Rich bank 1. P0174 Lean bank 2. P01172 System rich banks A and B. P01175 Rich bank B. Adaptive values all to cock basically. MAF might be a good shout.
