Dropped Martyn up Druth, and now back at the ranch, doris still feeling pretty rough, drowning her sorrows with Lemsip!

Nice to see yu all, and meet Trewey and Tripp, interesting line up of vehicles too :)

Thanks to Trewey for suggesting the venue, nice rambling old pub, which I had never been to before.

Buggers. I got married at that pub, it's half a mile from me. Feckin secret squirrelers.

Our level of secrecy would be a credit to the KGB :D

We only posted the whole arrangement for months on a website that anyone in the world with internet can see!

Anyway, I enjoyed it, pleasant evening run out. So if you are up for it, post up another date and venue, and we will give it another go :) Got quite a bit going on the next few weeks, sometime after the middle of August would be good for us.

Good night last night thanks to turbo for the transport, be nice to go laning with you all again soon

We shall hatch a cunning plan ...:D
I've gotta say ..... and it's just me showing how ignorant I've become about pub prices , but I did think that 2 pints of orange juice/lemonade and 2 x halfs of coke for £10 was a tad steep ... don't get me wrong , I know they've gotta make a living at it , and a social is well worth the money and effort involved to get there ..but jeez , no wonder so many pubs have gone to the wall ..

Makes the pre-laning breakfast at the Garden Centre cafe , look positively cheap ..;)

Not just you, I am amazed by what pubs charge now, soft drinks are almost worse than beer  Drinks are on me next time! :)

No idea how the pubs expect to do a good trade at ten times supermarket prices. When we were up in Scotland we went in the pub just round the corner from brother in laws. Pint of Guiness and a red wine for J. was £9.30  I know they have costs, but you could buy two bottles of wine for that in a shop!

I used to work in the beer trade, I would be very
surprised if they pay £1 a pint (bigger pubs)
My town has been in a cartel for some time, including
different prices for locals and holiday makers.
I voted with my feet.
Spoons have just had a press release saying they were going
to invest £1.6 million in town, so that should have an effect.

 I feel bad thinking you payed that much, mind you in those parts they cater for the other half. Don't pay anywhere near that at the twilight zone ;-)

Sounds more like The Berkley or Penmare down at Hayle :D

Wow, Berkley Centre! Gone but not very lamented. The carpets were sticky there too, and it was pretty smelly. I cant comment on the glass on the dancefloor, like most males I stayed well clear, on account of the 22stone Camburn single mums that used to infest it! :D

Penmare was a bit different, not sure if they even had carpet, the floor was made of mud and cow**** oiled with pilchard oil, I think ;)
But it was actually quite a nice place for a night out, never had the violent undercurrents of TZ or Berkley. Possibly on account of Hayle having more laid back surfies, not sure. :)

Did Berkley become the groin exchange or was that somewhere else?

Edit.. Not sure why I'm asking you , can't imagine that you frequent a place called the groin exchange..:D
