Hello All

Made it Cornwall near Camborne, just wondering if anyone can recommend a Land Rover specialist in the area, I have seen one called Steve Toyer Land Rovers, any feedback or suggestions of any other would be great.

Think the problem relates to the injector pump.

Many thanks

Nigel

Never heard of Steve Toyer at all, although I have lived here a long time and know many lr people!
If it is an injection problem, try Richards Bros in Cardrew Industrial Estate, Redruth.
Andy Richards at Carharrack is a good bloke, and knows em inside out, as does John Pollard, just outside Leedstown on the Helston to Hayle road.

Im away for a few days, but I could have a look myself when I am back on Wednesday, if you will still be in the area. At least I can probably tell you what the problem is.

Turboman Steve toyer is a land rover satellite dealer in penryn, Andy Richards is in Carharrack and his number is 01209821859 he onlys goes up to 300tdi he isn't intrested in td5. Hope you sort something out

Many thanks for the replies guys.

Spoke to that Steve Toyer Gergen earlier today, turns out the rumblng and vibrations was caused by a broken UJ and faulty front prop shaft, part is ordered and should be fitter tomorrow.

The other sound that can be heard will be investigated further tomorrow also, at the moment they think its something to do with the transfer box/gear box, but we shall see.

I let you know

Oh well, that's about three times as far from Camburn as landy Richards, and probably dearer too!

As you obviously didn't grease your props before leaving on your trip, maybe your gearbox issue has been caused by poor maintenance also, do you think your trans oil is at right levels and clean?

Did have a look at Richard Bros website but as it was nothing to do with injectors didn't feel the need to contact him, mine is also the EDC Variant and normally not many places touch them either.

The landy has been looked after with 6 monthly servicing and once over every month, for some reason though the front UJ has no grease nipple on the one I have had so it was only a matter of time before failing anyway. It's been on the car since I have owned it and that is over 6 years now,

You say about the gear box, mine is an auto and for some reason the top of the dip stick decides to pop itself off about an inch or so, oil levels are fine, and every garage and forum I have queried this with says its nothing to worry about, again this has been happening since I owned the vehicle and was declared to me when I bought it to.

I wasn't talking about Richards Bros. I was talking about Andy Richards at Carharrack, Martyn posted his phone number, and it is loads closer than Penryn! :)

Apologies about the joint, if there is no nipple yu cant grease it. I wouldn't worry about the autotrans if it drives and changes ok.

Got the prop all sorted, labour only cost around £30 for fitting of the prob and having a good listen.

Sound appears to be coming from gearbox/transfer box plate. They said the same thing as it drives and changes gears fine leave it until it doesn't lol
