Unfortunately I can't make it this Sunday as got a family thing going on. Desperately trying to get the truck ready for the 11th.

What's up with yours Kip?

Changing the rear prop to a wide angle one and the diff flange from the three hole flange to a four hole flange.

But struggling to get the centralisation pin out of the diff so I can undo the flange nut.
Seems I need some heat and a slide hammer or special Land Rover tool to get the thing out, both of which I don't have to hand.

So job has stopped for the time being.

Hmmm, not having had any experience of 24 spline I can't offer any expert help.

What is this centralisation pin?

I thought the just had a nut with split pin, or a bolt on later models...?

Good luck!

8mm set screw (bolt with thread all the way ) 80 or more mms long, and wind it off ,dont forget you may need spacer as well as 4 bolt flange 3 bolt flanges are longer so dont need it

So did I until I removed the huge rubber donut and saw no nut. It is pressed into the diff and the nut sits behind it.
Not quite sure as to the purpose as I am not that techie. What I do know is it is a huge pain in the arse!!!.

But now I know why the flange kit has a bolt and a split pin in the box. Cheers. :D
Was wondering what they were for.

actualy come to think of it now i may have heard of this before.

if you havent already then you need to post up in the disco forum abd take some advice on it, it will have been well covered no doubt...

Thanks James, I did try that with a length of threaded bar and a 57mm hub socket. But it was so tight that I just ripped the threads on the bar.

Might need to make a longer puller.

i meant wind it through till it bottomed out on pinion bolt and force it out ,i use slide hammer 8mm bolted welded to nut screwed to bar

Oh i see. So is it hollow all the way through? I screwed it in and then tightened the nuts up at the end behind the large socket.
I could use the socket as a slide hammer.

Was yours difficult to get out?

been reading through with interest, is this meet still on i could bring at least three if so when and where is everyone meeting

I think we need an updated list of attendees.

We are definately going to need to split into groups. So will all willing leaders please make themselves known.

hmmm :(

i need to retract my previous nomination for potential lead because as i suggested a few pages back, i may not be able to make this run now.

its not decided yet, but im better to be a tagalong than a blummin proposed lead vehicle!

will have to see what happens.

thanks :)
