Definitive Veggie Oil Thread?

Hi - on top of running a 3.9 Disco with UL at £1.13 per litre, I am horrified at paying £1.28 per litre for Dino diesel for my *proper* Landy, so plan to mix something like 60 dino /40 veggie...

Does anyone have real world experience of how well this will work?

My hope is that there may be some real experiences (>1000 miles?) of what it's like to 'drive the chip shop'. I know my rubber bits should melt, my filter will block and that my CAV DPA will snap in half if I run 100% SVO, I am only talking about a mix, with a greater proportion of Dino.

Yer pours it in the tank. Yer drives yer Landy. Then when yer runs out yer does it again except in the meantime the basterd supermarkets have put it up again, just like the petrol stations do.

I ran 85% veg in my 2.25 diesel all thru the winter with no problems accept 1 night by mistake probably had 100% veg in the tank went to start it in morning and it siezed pump and broke pump shaft. Other than that no problems, fuel hoses and filters were fine, on long runs i ran 100% veg did about 4000 miles like that then got fed up of driveing a series 1 100 miles a day!

Still waayyyy too dear, but better than £1.28 fer Doozel!

Fantastic - I'm filling up on veggie this weekend. Just been to buy petrol for the Disco and it's £1.14 per litre. Couldn't bear to look at the Diesel price. Papers say that crude is going to rise and rise and rise...
